A local man from the Greek island of Kea, in the Cyclades opens his home to us, takes us along to his work as a building contractor, and reveals the island as it's rarely seen, beyond the lens of summer. What is life like when the crowds leave or when the beaches empty and the island returns to its own pace during the time between summers?

A day of shooting on the island, we travelled as much as we could all around the scenery and finally at night we returned home with Thanasis, we gathered near the wood stove, we drunk some red wine and talked about everything.

As I visited the island during the winter, I wanted to capture its natural rhythm, the quiet moments that belong only to those who stay back when everyone else has left. It’s in these in-between months that you begin to see the place as it truly is.
